Artist Recognition: @KeenEyeVP

It’s that time again, the end of the month when we celebrate a member of our community for their awesome work! This month belongs to @KeenEyeVP, not only do they produce jaw-dropping VP, but they were also one of the first people to follow us, engage with us and use our hashtags, they are a pillar of our community, and it only seems right for us to recognise that. So scroll on down, check out the awesome mini gallery provided by @KeenEyeVP and our Q&A session.
VPGamersUK: Tell us a bit about yourself.
@KeenEyeVP:
My name is Troy. I’m a level 39 gamer/VPer from S/W Sydney Australia. Gaming and VP is life.

VPGamersUK: What got you into video games?
@KeenEyeVP
: My parents brought home an Atari 2600 back… Waaaay back in the day and I’ve been hooked ever since. I was about 4 or 5 years old and didn’t even know what a video game was at the time. I think my mother coming home with the Atari may be my earliest memory of anything! I’ll never forget it.

VPGamersUK: What games do you remember playing on the Atari 2600?
@KeenEyeVP:
Games like Frogger, Air Raid, MegaMania and Kung Fu were among my early favourites from the Atari.

VPGamersUK: What is your favourite video games, and console?
@KeenEyeVP:
My console of choice is the PlayStation and my all time favourite game is The Last of Us Part II with 4 or 5 games fighting it out for 2nd place.

VPGamersUK: What are the 4 or 5 games battling out for 2nd place?
@KeenEyeVP:
The Witcher 3, God of War, Horizon FW/ZD and Cyberpunk 2077 are all tied 2nd… I can’t split them.

VPGamersUK: How did you get into VP?
@KeenEyeVP:
It first struck me while playing God of War 2018. I’ve always been into real life photography and one day I thought I’d try taking some pics of Kratos… That was it, I’ve been damn near obsessed ever since.

VPGamersUK: How do you feel about the VP community?
@KeenEyeVP:
The VP community is amazing. It’s inspiring, it’s encouraging and full of amazingly talented and friendly people. I’ve met some of the best people through VP.

VPGamersUK: What would be your last ever meal? Starter, main, dessert, and drinks.
@KeenEyeVP:
My last meal would absolutely be wood fired pizza. 3 kinds of cheese and spicey Salami from my local pizza place. Nothing compares. The starter is always garlic bread, always. Drinks – Italian beer to go with the Italian food. Manebrea or Birra Nazionale. Finishing off with a cracking cannoli.

VPGamersUK: What is next for VP? Where do you see it going in the future?
@KeenEyeVP:
VP keeps getting bigger and bigger. It’s at the point where basically every game has a photo mode. If it doesn’t, it feels incomplete to me. Having said that VP isn’t accepted by all and some still laugh at the thought of it. My hope is that soon, all can appreciate the extensive work and creativity involved in doing what we do.

VPGamersUK: What makes a good photo mode in your opinion? What features are absolutely necessary?
@KeenEyeVP:
Free aim camera and full tilt are a must for photo modes. I’m a vert feind. The lighting system in the Insomniac Games is also amazing and very underused.

VPGamersUK: What games do you wish for sequels for? (or comebacks)
@KeenEyeVP:
I would love to see more from the Mordor series… Those games are amazing and deserve more attention.

VPGamersUK: Do you have anyone in the community you want to give shoutouts to? Whether someone has guided you in becoming better, you love someone’s work, or you’ve seen someone helping others.
@KeenEyeVP:
VP shoutouts? How many can I add? @eveygamephoto is my absolute favourite VP’er. Everything she does is perfect and her work inspires me to be better at what I do. Being an absolute doll doesn’t hurt either. She’s a sweetheart too. I have over 740 VP friends on my FB group Virtual Photography Society that I want to name too. They’re all my daily source of inspiration and I adore them all. My life would feel empty without them.
So there we have it, we would like to thank @KeenEyeVP for being with us from the very start. We and the community love the art that you create. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for another Mordor game for you too!
